Elenia produces electricity distribution and heating services
Elenia has its roots in local energy companies Lapuan Sähkö, Hämeen Sähkö, Revon Sähkö, Heinola Energia, Keski-Suomen Valo and Hämeenlinnan Energia which Vattenfall acquired in 1995–2000. Elenia bought from Vattenfall its electricity distribution and heating businesses in Finland on 10 January 2012. Elenia Oy was at the time of the transaction indirectly owned by a consortium comprising Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company, GS Global Infrastructure Partners II L.P. and GS International Infrastructure Partners II L.P. as well as 3i Infrastructure plc.
The acquired businesses became Elenia Group which comprises electricity distribution company Elenia Oy as the parent company and its wholly-owned heating solutions provider Elenia Lämpö Oy, services company Elenia Palvelut Oy and Elenia Finance Oyj.
Elenia Group’s total revenue in 2014 was EUR 299.7 million and the number of employees was 389. Close cooperation with local partner companies is an integral part of Elenia Group’s operations. Including the organisations within its partner network, Elenia Group’s customers are served on a daily basis by over 1000 employees.
